‘Serious collision’ involving cars and lorry shuts part of main road
A stretch of the A52 in Derbyshire was closed after a serious crash. Police said the collision on Monday night (November 4) involved two cars and a lorry. As of 10pm, both lanes of the Painter's Lane part of the route were blocked.
Derbyshire Police said they were likely to remain so "for some time" after a fuel spillage. Drivers were warned to avoid the area, but the road has since reopened this morning (November 5). No further details were made available on the vehicles involved or if anyone was injured.
Derbyshire police said in an initial update on the incident: "Part of the A52 between Brailsford and Ashbourne is closed following a serious collision. The incident involves two cars and a lorry. "Both lanes of the Painter's Lane stretch of the road are blocked and are likely to remain so for some time due to the amount of debris and fluid on the surface.
Motorists should avoid the area until further notice."
