Woman rushed to hospital after car and lorry crash on A14

A woman has been injured after a crash involving a lorry and a car[1] on the A14[2] in Cambridgeshire[3]. The incident at Bar Hill near Cambridge[4] took place at around 2.30pm on Friday (October 11). An East of England Ambulance Service[5] spokesperson said: “We were called just after 2.30pm to a road traffic[6] collision between a lorry and car on the A14 near Hemingford Abbots.

“An ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene. An adult woman was transported to Hinchingbrooke Hospital for further assessment and treatment.” Read more: A14 recap as crash involving lorry and car blocks road[7]

A Cambridgeshire County Council[10] spokesperson asked people to allow extra time for their journey, while traffic monitoring company Inrix described “queuing traffic”.

All lanes were open by 6pm.
