M62 traffic LIVE as two lanes shut and drivers in bumper to bumper delays

Drivers travelling along the M62 in Leeds[1] are facing long delays as we head into rush hour. Two lanes of the motorway have been closed in the westbound direction due to a broken down vehicle at J27 for the M621 at Gildersome. Heavy traffic is continuing to build in the area, with images from motorway cameras showing vehicles queuing from bumper to bumper in miles of tailbacks.

Our travel partner, Inrix, reports: “Two lanes closed and heavy traffic due to broken down vehicle on M62 Westbound at J27 M621 (Gildersome).” A second broken down vehicle has also been removed from the eastbound carriage of the motorway, with traffic beginning to ease in the area. The latest update from our travel partner, Inrix, says: “All lanes open and traffic returned to normal, broken down vehicle removed on M62 Eastbound from J25 A644 Wakefield Road (Brighouse) to J26 M606 J1 (Chain Bar).”
