Driver taken to hospital after two lorries crash on major Cambs A-road
A lorry driver has been taken to hospital after a crash involving two lorries early Wednesday morning (October 30). The crash happened on the A1 Northbound between Alwalton and Sibson. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6am.
The road was closed with traffic stopped at 6:25am. One lane on the A1 Northbound has now reopened but delays of around 30 minutes are expected, as the traffic is moving slowly. Earlier Wednesday morning, Cambridgeshire[1] Police urged drivers to use alternative routes if travelling in the area.

Officers attended together with firefighters and paramedics, and the road is closed with delays in the area while the vehicles are recovered. “One driver has been taken to hospital but there are not thought to be any life-threatening injuries.” Cambridgeshire Fire also attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire said: “Crews from Stanground, Dogsthorpe and the Peterborough[4] Volunteer Fire Brigade were called just after 6am this morning (Wednesday, October 30) to a road traffic collision involving two lorries.
“They released a casualty from one of the lorries and left them in the care of ambulance crews.”
