Driver suffers ‘serious injuries’ in M6 truck crash

A motorist has suffered ‘serious injuries’ following an early-morning M6 smash between a car and a truck. Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the northbound stretch at around 3.15am this morning – with three lanes closed off. Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service say crews from Middlewich and Lymm were sent to the incident – between junction 18 for Middlewich and Holmes Chapel and junction 19 for Knutsford – where they found a collision between a lorry and a car.

Now Cheshire Police have confirmed the car driver remains in hospital. A spokeswoman for the force said: “Police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junctions 18 and 19. The collision involved a lorry and a car.

The driver of the car has been taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains at this time.”
