M25 crash leaves motorway closed in Essex

The M25 is fully shut in Essex today (Thursday, September 26) following a serious crash between a lorry and van. Emergency services have been attending the scene since 5.50am following the crash near junction 28 with the A12. The crash has taken place shortly after junction 28 at Brentwood on the anti-clockwise carriageway and the road is closed.

The clockwise carriageway is also being held by the emergency services with four miles of queues. There is congestion all the way back to junction 30 with the A13 at Lakeside Shopping Centre and there is also heavy traffic on the A12 with the southbound carriageway built back to junction 13 with Shenfield. Read more:Man arrested over rape in Asda car park in Basildon[2] The road is expected to be closed for some time and diversion routes are in place via the North Circular in London and the M11. It is not yet known how many people have been injured.
