Seven people have been injured following a crash on the M6. Emergency services were called to the northbound carriage of Junction 27 (Standish) of the M6 at 2.07pm today.

It followed a report that a HGV, campervan and car had collided due to an overturned lorry.

The collision caused “considerable damage to the central reservation and the HGV has also shed its load”, Lancashire police said. ?

North West Motorway Police said that tailbacks were “causing issues” due to the “serious police incident”. Drivers were advised to leave the motorway at junction 25 to avoid the queuing traffic.
