Motorbike and lorry crash on East Lancs Road causing huge delays

Police have issued an update after the East Lancashire Road closed following a crash. Emergency services were called to the eastbound carriageway between Moorgate Road and the slip road for the M57 [1]at around 6.35am on Thursday, May 9. It followed reports of a crash between a motorbike and a lorry.

The extent of injuries is currently unknown. Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance Service are all at the scene. The east and westbound carriageway of the East Lancashire Road are currently closed while the incident is being dealt with.
