Man in his 30s dies after car and truck involved in horror crash near Dublin

A man has died after a horrific crash involving a car and a truck in Dublin. The crash occurred on the N7 westbound between Junction 4 and 5 at around 9am on Saturday, August 17. Following the arrival of emergency services, it was confirmed that a passenger in the car, a man in his 30s, was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

The car’s driver received medical attention for injuries deemed non-life threatening. In response to the incident, Gardai have sealed off a portion of the N7 for a forensic collision examination, with alternative routes advised for local traffic.

Authorities are reaching out to any potential witnesses or individuals with dashcam footage to come forward.

A Garda spokesperson stated: “Gardai and emergency services are attending the scene of a fatal road traffic collision between Junction 4 and Junction 5 on the N7 westbound, Co. Dublin[3], Saturday, 17th August 2024.” “The collision occurred at approximately 9:00am this morning and involved a car and a truck.

A passenger in the car, a man aged in his 30s, has been pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the car has also been treated for non-life threatening injuries.”, reports the Irish Mirror[4]. “This stretch of road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.

Local diversions are in place.” “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time of the incident, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.”
