Man dies in collision involving car and lorry near Hail Weston

A man has died in a collision between a lorry and a car near St Neots.

Emergency services were called to the B645, between Hail Weston and Great Staughton, after the collision between a Vauxhall Astra and a Mercedes lorry at about 18:40 BST, said Cambridgeshire Police.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old man from Rushden, Northamptonshire, died at the scene.

His passenger, a 22-year-old woman from St Neots, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the lorry, a 63-year-old man from near Sleaford, Lincolnshire, was uninjured and remained at the scene, said police.
