M5 traffic live as multiple vehicles crash and cause long queues

Traffic queued on the M5 through Bristol after a crash involving multiple vehicles[1]. One lane was closed between junctions 17 and 18, with delays reported in the southbound direction. It comes as heavy traffic is expected on the motorway ahead of the last weekend of the school holidays.

Traffic monitor Inrix first reported the collision at around 12.45pm today, Friday, August 30. Inrix reports: “Delays and one lane closed due to multi-vehicle accident on M5 southbound from J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway) to J18 M49.Camera shows lane three (of three) is closed.”

According to Inrix, traffic started easising by around 1.45pm.
