Cyclist in his 70s left injured after fail-to-stop collision with truck
The cyclist, a man in his 70s, came off his bike following the fail-to-stop collision in Kirkby yesterday, Wednesday, August 14. At around 12.15pm we received a report of a collision involving a white Iveco scaffolding truck and a cyclist in a yellow jacket, riding a dark-coloured mountain bike at the traffic lights of North Perimeter Road and Dale Lane in Simonswood. Fortunately, the cyclist did not need medical treatment.
The Iveco scaffolding truck failed to stop at the scene and continued along Dale Lane in the direction of Headbolt Lane. Merseyside Police is now appealing to anybody who may have witnessed to the collision or has CCTV or dash camera footage which would help with the investigation to please come forward.
