Crash between cement mixer and car sparks delays

Queues built up and delays were caused on a major route after a reported crash between a car and a cement mixing lorry. The accident happened just before 12pm at the Brenley Corner roundabout on the A2 near Faversham.

Kent County Council highways earlier warned motorists to expect delays and approach the junction with caution. The westbound lane was closed but the road reopened at about 2pm.

It comes the day after a pedestrian was injured and taken to hospital by air ambulance following a collision with a lorry[1].

Police and paramedics were called at about 6.30pm and the patient was treated for serious injuries.
