Car fire on M4 causes seven miles of queues with long delays

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service were in attendance at the scene of a vehicle fire on the M4 which caused long delays. The incident happened just after 5pm on the M4 westbound near junction 43 of the motorway and the A465 at Llandarcy. Live traffic maps showed the fire service in attendance with the slip road and one lane of the motorway closed.

Queues trailed from J43 across the M4 stretch at Port Talbot to Taibach. This is already a pinch point for slow traffic. Traffic Monitoring system INRIX said that traffic was also congested on the opposite side due to onlookers.

The Westbound A465 was also congested approaching the roundabout.

All traffic cleared just before 6:30pm. Join our WhatsApp news community here[1] for the latest breaking news
