Woman hurt in A500 crash with lorry

A woman was injured in a crash with a lorry on the A500. Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle collision on the D-road slip-road on the southbound carriageway close to Sideway this morning (July 16). Paramedics treated one patient at the scene shortly after 8am.

The smash led to rush-hour delays on both the A500 and A50. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called at 8.20am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a HGV nearby to the bottom of the slip road to the A500, in Trentham and Hanford. "One ambulance attended the scene.

Upon arrival we found a woman who was the driver of the car. She was assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. She received self care advice from ambulance staff before being discharged at the scene."
