Gardai are appealing for witnesses after a motorist was hospitalised following a collision with a lorry on Saturday night. At around 9pm on July 6, Gardai[1] and emergency services were rushed to the scene of a road smash involving a car and a lorry on the N20 at Ballyhea, Charleville. The driver of the car, a male in his 50s, was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital[2] with serious injuries.

His condition is understood to be stable. The driver of the lorry did not require immediate medical treatment.

Although the road was closed for a period of time, the road involved in this collision has now re-opened for use.

The spokesperson said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage from the area at the time is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station at 022-31450 or the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111."
