Fuel leak after ambulance crash closes road

A road was closed due to a fuel leak following a crash involving an ambulance and a lorry. The two vehicles collided on Branbridges Road, East Peckham,[1] outside the Co-op store, at around 9.40am this morning.

Police attended the incident and said there were no injuries. The road was initially closed due to a fuel leak from one of the vehicles but has since reopened.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service says it was called at 9.40am to Branbridges Industrial Estate, East Peckham to assist Kent Police and SECAmb. A spokeswoman from the ambulance service said: “We can confirm that an ambulance was involved in a collision with a lorry on Banbridges Road, East Peckham, at approximately 9.35am today. “Thankfully, the ambulance crew and the driver of the lorry were uninjured.

“The ambulance was responding to an emergency in the area at the time of the collision.

“Other vehicles were already assigned to and attended the emergency.”
