A14 traffic delays clear after crash involving car and lorry near Bar Hill
The A14 Eastbound in Cambridgeshire was blocked today (Thursday, July 25) due to a crash involving a car and lorry. The incident was first reported around 7.30am. Police and paramedics were called to the scene on the eastbound carriageway.
Police say the driver of the car received “minor injuries” but was not required to go to hospital. Three lanes were closed on the A14 eastbound between J25 (Bar Hill and J31 (Girton/M11). Queues were also backed up to J24 in Swavesey.
Motorists were advised to plan their journeys accordingly. The lanes were fully reopened around 8.30am. Inrix, the traffic[2] data company, said: “Traffic returned to normal, accident cleared on A14 Eastbound after J25 B1050 Hattons Road (Bar Hill).
Previous congestion to J24 (Swavesey). After another brief hold, all lanes are now open.” A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: “”We were called at 7.32am today (25 July) with reports of a collision on the eastbound carriageway of the A14 at Bar Hill.”he collision, which involved a car and an HGV, initially blocked the carriageway.
“A woman who was driving the car received minor injuries. The road is open, but there has been an increase in congestion following the collision.” An East Midlands Ambulance spokesperson said: “We were called at 7.36am with reports of a collision on the A14 near junction 29.
