Four people injured in serious lorry crash in Somerset
Four people have been injured in a serious crash in Somerset this morning (Wednesday, June 26). The A371 at Wincanton is currently closed in both directions, sparking delays. The two-vehicle crash involved a lorry and a van.
One of the four injured people has suffered ‘significant’ injuries, but it is not known if they are life-changing or threatening. A statement from Avon and Somerset Police said: “A serious injury collision between a van & a lorry has closed the A371 near #Wincanton. Four people were injured, one significantly.
The lorry driver is shocked but OK.” Local road diversions are in place while the road remains closed. Traffic heading to Glastonbury Festival is being affected, but motorists have been advised to use alternative routes.
Traffic trying to go to Glastonbury is told to leave the A303 and join either the A36, A350 or A37. Follow our live blog here for the latest updates[1].
