A spokesperson for Bolton at Home said: "We occasionally sell properties[3] if they stop meeting our needs or no longer provide value for money for our tenants.
"Selling by auction is a way of ensuring we get a better sale price for the property. We use surveyors to help us come to a valuation for the reserve price, under which we will not sell. "The proceeds of any sale are reinvested into our homes and services."
