Woman, 31, killed in horror crash involving lorry on busy road

A driver has died following a horror crash with a lorry on a major Cheshire[1] road. Officers were called out to the A49 Tarporley Road in Oakmere, near Northwich, at around 7.40am yesterday (May 22). Cheshire Police says the collision involved a white Renault Clio and a HGV, near to the junction of Overdale Lane.

The driver of the Clio, a 31-year-old woman from Crewe, sadly died at the scene as a result of the crash. Her family is being supported by specialist officers, Cheshire Police says. The lorry driver was not injured in the crash.

No arrests have been made so far.
