This is the shocking moment a motorist narrowly avoids a head-on crash after driving the wrong way down a motorway slip road.
The dark coloured car was seen moments from disaster after being caught on dashcam going against the traffic at a junction on the M8 near Glasgow[2] on Saturday night.
The footage, taken by a motorist known only as Matt, showed the car powering towards him as he left the motorway at J27 in Renfrewshire.
Video shows the moment the headlights of the other vehicle, which Matt initially mistook for bright street lamps, came into view before he is forced to brake as the other car comes into view.
Matt then sounds his horn as the oblivious motorist appears to continue the wrong way down the slip road, having apparently erred by turning onto the exit rather than the entrance to the motorway.

Matt shared the clip to social media yesterday with the caption: 'Driver tries to enter via exit ramp of motorway.
'At first, I thought "That's a bright streetlamp" and then I thought 'What the hell did I just witness' horn reaction could do with some work but I'm a new driver so excuse the late reaction.
'I was just bewildered, as far as I'm aware they continued onto the motorway.'
His video received over 200 likes with dozens of comments from baffled social media users who were quick to offer their thoughts on what had occurred.
One said: 'How many mistakes are needed for something like this to happen?
I'm counting two (ignore paint on ground and misread sign).'
Another added: 'The amount of drivers I've had pull out on me coming off that slip road is insane, driving in Glasgow makes me angry.'
A third replied: 'State of the driving in this country shake my head.'
Another commented: 'So many morons, was out today and someone did similar on a junction, just casually turned off the road down the wrong side of the road because that particular lane was empty.'

A fifth wrote: 'This has been fatal twice in the space of a month near me.
'Five times in a two-year span.
And this doesn't take into account the people that do this and survive.'
If caught, a charge of dangerous driving can carry a custodial sentence of up to two years as well as a minimum twelve-month driving ban.
