Two women die in A361 car and lorry crash
Two women have tragically died following a crash in Somerset. The collision, which left the A361 near Frome closed for most of Thursday afternoon (May 30) involved two cars and a lorry, Avon and Somerset Police has said. Emergency services were called to Marston Road at around 3.10pm after a silver Ford, black Land Rover and a lorry collided.
Both the driver and passenger, both women, in the Ford car were sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer, a police spokesperson said. “Our thoughts are with them,” they added. One person who was inside the Land Rover was taken to hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.
Police say the A361 was closed until around 12.05am today (May 31) while investigation work was carried out at the scene.
Avon and Somerset Police are now asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who has relevant dashcam footage, to get in contact.
