Recap: M6 rush-hour tailbacks in Staffordshire as lorry sheds its load

Motorists are being warned of delays on the M6 in Staffordshire following a crash. Three lanes on the southbound side are currently closed between junctions 14 and 13 following the collision. Congestion is also building up on the northbound carriageway as 'onlookers' slow down.

It is not yet known how many vehicles are involved or whether there are any serious injuries. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says the collision was first reported at 4.20pm. It says: "Queueing traffic and three lanes closed due to accident on M6 Southbound between J14 A34 (Stafford North) and J13 A449 (Stafford South).

Lanes one, two and three (of three) are closed. Traffic is also congested on the opposite side due to the onlookers." StokeonTrentLive is contacting Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service for statements.
