Live: M6 ‘blocked’ as police at scene of collision

Police are currently at the scene of a crash on the M6 which has left a stretch of the motorway 'blocked'. The collision has occurred on the southbound stretch between Junction 15 and 14. National Highways has this morning issued an alert to motorists to warn them that traffic has been stopped.

Meanwhile traffic monitoring system Inrix is reporting the stretch is 'blocked'. A post from National Highways on X - formerly Twitter - states: "Traffic is stopped M6 southbound between Junction 15 for Stoke-on-Trent and Junction 14 for Stafford following a collision. "Central Motorway Police Group are in attendance.

More information to follow, thank you for your patience."

An alert from Inrix, issued just after 4.25am states: "M6 southbound blocked due to accident from J15 A500 D Road (Stoke-on-Trent) to J14 A34 (Stafford North)."
