Live A20 traffic updates as lorry crash blocks Ashford Road in Harrietsham
Drivers are facing heavy traffic as a lorry crash on the A20[1] has blocked the road between Ashford[2] and Maidstone[3]. The collision has taken place on the A20 Ashford Road in the village of Harrietsham. Both directions of travel have been blocked between Church Lane and East Street as a result.
Kent County Council’s (KCC) Highways department says delays are mounting in the area near the railway bridge. It is not yet known if any other vehicles are involved in the crash, or if any injuries have been reported, but Kent Police[4] are at the scene. KentLive[5] has approached emergency services for further information.
Drivers have been urged to approach the area “with caution” and to “expect delays”.
The latest update from traffic monitoring service Inrix states: “A20 Ashford Road in both directions closed, queueing traffic due to accident from Church Lane to East Street.”
