Cars crash into metal ramp that fell from lorry on A34 causing chaos
The incident occurred early on Wednesday morning as a metal ramp on a lorry came unattached and fell into the road. Multiple vehicles collided with the ramp causing a crash and lanes to be closed on the A34 southbound close to the Peartree Interchange near Oxford[1]. Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene of the crash and cleared up the lanes.

The force confirmed after 9am that nobody had been seriously injured in the incident and that the officers had since left the scene. A spokesman for the force told the Oxford Mail: "This was an incident where a metal ramp fell from the back of a lorry, temporarily blocking lane one southbound.
"A couple of vehicles struck the metal ramp, but there have been no serious injuries reported. "The lane is now open and traffic should be returning to normal.
"We have left the scene and both lanes are now open and Inrix have been updated accordingly." Traffic queues built up as a result of the crash and the closed lanes which created major delays in rush hour. Cars sat in stationary traffic as the emergency services raced to clear up the lanes with traffic returning to a normal flow after 9.30am.
