Bin lorry driver in hospital with life-threatening injuries after crash

A bin lorry driver is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision in Chepstow. Gwent Police[1] are appealing for witnesses to the crash, which happened at around 9am on Tuesday, May 7 on the A466, Wye Valley Link Road[2]. Emergency services, including the air ambulance and fire service, attended the scene of the collision, which involved two vehicles: white Mercedes bin lorry and a white Ford Ranger. The driver of the bin lorry, a 54-year-old man, is being treated in hospital.

The force said their enquiries are ongoing and they have urged anyone who may have witnessed the collision, between 8.55am and 9.05am, to contact them.
