Van and bin lorry crash on one-way system

Two lanes were blocked on a one-way system following a crash. A bin lorry and a van were involved in the accident, which happened on the A229 Bishops Way in Maidstone[1].

Lanes one and two out of three were blocked on the approach to the bridge in the town centre. KCC Highways warned drivers of delays on the one-way system and confirmed police were attending.

A spokeswoman from the force said: "Officers were called at 12.10pm to a collision between a van and a dustcart on Broadway, Maidstone.

"Officers attended the scene, where no injuries were reported.

Drivers faced delays as a result.

"Arrangements were made to recover the vehicles."

The road was cleared at around 12.45pm and traffic has since returned to normal.
