A number of trucks banked up behind road closures have been told to make arrangements for alternative travel or accommodation.

'All trucks should park at Yalata or other major service stations,' police said on Thursday morning.

'Please be patient while crews attend the scene.'

South Australia Police are continuing to investigate the collision.
