Thames Road Crayford fatal crash: Ambulance service update

The incident between a lorry and a car happened in Thames Road at 10.30pm yesterday (April 27). An ambulance crew, an incident response officer, and a car trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance attended. The driver of the car, a man in his 50s, was found injured and pronounced dead shortly after.

His family have been informed. No arrests have been made as police enquiries continue. A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 10:30pm yesterday evening (April 27) to reports of a car in collision with a lorry on Thames Road, Crayford.

“We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance by car. “Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, one person died at the scene.”

The full Metropolitan Police statement says: “Police were called at 2236hrs on Saturday, 27 April, to a car in collision with a lorry in Thames Road, Crayford. “Despite the efforts of emergency services, the driver of the car, a man aged in his 50s, died at the scene. His family have been informed.

“Nobody else was taken to hospital.

“There has been no arrest.”
