Man in his 50s dies after crash involving lorry

A man in his 50s has died following a crash involving a lorry. Police were called to Thames Road in Crayford, near Dartford[1], just after 10.30pm yesterday.

It followed reports that a car had been involved in a collision with a lorry. Ambulance crews and an incident response officer attended the scene.

A trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance was also dispatched by car. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, police confirmed that the driver of the car died at the scene.

The family of the man, who was in his 50s, have been informed. Nobody else was taken to hospital.

The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene and no arrests have been made.

A spokesperson for the fire service added crews helped to make the scene safe after being called just before 10.45pm.

Firefighters left the scene at 11.50pm.
