M62 traffic live as crash shuts two lanes between Castleford and Pontefract

A crash is causing big delays on the M62[1] this morning. Two lanes of the busy motorway are currently shut between Castleford[2] and Pontefract following a crash heading east on the M62. It happened shortly before 5.45am and is affecting traffic[3] heading eastbound between junction 31 for the A655 at Castleford to junction 32, for the A639 at Colorado Way, Pontefract.

It is not known at this stage how many cars are involved but it has shut down two lanes, which has caused traffic gridlock. Our traffic management system Inrix, states: "Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M62 Eastbound from J31 A655 ( Castleford ) to J32 A639 Colorado Way (Pontefract)."
