Lorry driver in hospital after Worcestershire M5 bridge crash

A lorry driver has been taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after his vehicle collided with a bridge on the M5 in Worcestershire, West Midlands Ambulance Service has said.

The crash happened near junction eight (Strensham Interchange) at 08:34 BST on the northbound carriageway.

Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.

The injured lorry driver was treated for his injuries at the scene before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.
