Live M20 updates after lorry crash temporarily stops traffic near Maidstone

Traffic has built on the M20[1] this afternoon (April 12) after a crash. The collision, reportedly involving a lorry and a car, has happened in the coast-bound direction after Junction 7 for the A249 (Maidstone/Detling Hill). The crash led to a temporary hold of all traffic.

One lane now remains shut and traffic is said to be queueing for around one mile. In its latest update at around 1pm, traffic monitoring service Inrix said: “Queueing traffic for one mile and one lane closed due to accident, a car and a lorry involved on M20 coastbound after J7 A249 (Maidstone/Detling Hill). In lane one (of three), after a brief stop to put cones out.”
