B4215 traffic: Key route closed as lorry crashes off road

A key route in Gloucestershire was closed for around three hours after a lorry crashed off the road this morning (Saturday, April 6). The incident happened on the B4215 near Dymock, north of Newent, at around 10.20am. Emergency services were at the scene and the driver was assessed by paramedics and taken to hospital with serious injuries that police said were not thought to be life-threatening.

Police initially urged motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes. The B4215 links Herefordshire and Gloucestershire, running through Dymock and past Newent down to the A40 junction at Highnam, near Gloucester, and the incident happened between Dymock and Newent. The road was reopened just before 1.30pm.
