Touching tributes to ‘lovely lady’ who died in lorry crash on A60 Mansfield Road in Daybrook

Touching floral tributes and heartfelt messages have appeared at a crossing close to where a woman died earlier this week. Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that a 74-year-old woman died after being involved in a crash with a lorry on the A60 Mansfield Road, in Daybrook, Arnold, at around 2.15pm on Monday, March 25.[1][2][3][4] The road, between Nottingham Road and Thackery's Lane and near both The Vale pub and Madford Retail Park, was closed until around 8pm. As a result, traffic was heavy and motorists were advised to avoid the area.

Following the tragic incident, a number of floral tributes with hand-written messages have appeared at the crossing where she died. Part of one heartfelt message read: "Always in our hearts. Love you xxxx."

Nottinghamshire Police[6] offered its condolences to the family of the woman in a statement released following the incident. Sergeant Craig Luckett, of Nottinghamshire Police's Roads Policing Unit and Serious Collision Unit[7], said: "First and foremost, our thoughts remain with this woman's family and loved ones.

We are in the process of carrying out a thorough investigation. Road closures have been put in place while we continue to examine the scene and these are set to remain for some time yet. "Thank you to everyone for their ongoing patience while we conduct these important inquiries.

This incident would have been traumatic for people to have witnessed so we'd urge them to please get in touch with the investigation team."
