Man, 40s, dies after articulated lorry crashes in Wexford
The driver of an articulated lorry has died following a single-vehicle collision in Wexford this morning. Gardai remain at the scene of the incident on the N30 at Clonroche, where the lorry crashed around 10:15am. The road is currently closed and is expected to remain impassable for a number of hours as forensic collision investigators examine the scene.
Local diversions are in place. The driver and sole occupant of the lorry, who was aged in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardai are appealing to any motorists who may have witnessed the collision[1] or have dash-cam footage to make contact with investigators.
“Gardai are currently at the scene of a fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision involving an articulated lorry that occurred at approximately 10:15 am on Sunday, 24th March 2024, on the N30 at Clonroche in County Wexford[3],” said a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana[4]. “The driver and sole occupant of the lorry, a man in his 40s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. “The N30 at Clonroche is currently closed and is expected to remain closed for a number of hours as Forensic Collision Investigators examine the scene.
Local traffic diversions are in place,” they added. “Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to this collision[5] to come forward. “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N30 in the Clonroche area between 10:00 am and 10:30 am are asked to make this footage available to gardai[6].”
