Cyclist dies after crash involving lorry on Cambridgeshire A-road

A woman has died following a crash on a Cambridgeshire A-road. Police and paramedics were called to the incident, which involved a cyclist and a lorry, on the A1123 (Huntingdon[1] Road) near Wyton shortly after 7pm on Wednesday, February 28. The cyclist, Denise Hind, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition following the crash, which took place near the junction for Splash Lane.

The 63-year-old, from Hartford, died on Friday, March 8, Cambridgeshire[2] Police has confirmed. An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police said the lorry’s driver is assisting them with their enquiries.

DI Garry Webb, from the BCH Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are trying to piece together what happened and would urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact us. That includes anyone who may have seen the woman on the same road or surrounding roads beforehand.” A Cambridgeshire Police[5] spokesperson added: “Police are appealing for information and urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have dash cam footage, to call 101 and ask to speak to a member of the Road Policing Unit, quoting Op Tyler or incident 474 of 28 February.”
