Teenage girl rushed to hospital after being hit by a lorry near A12 Boreham Interchange

A teenage girl was taken to hospital after being hit by a lorry near the Boreham Interchange yesterday (February 11). She was allegedly walking when the collision happened at about 10.15am on the A12 slip road at junction 19 just outside Chelmsford.

The incident resulted in road closures at the time[1], with all traffic being held on the slip road as an ambulance, ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance arrived on the scene. The girl was then taken to Broomfield Hospital.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called just after 10.15am to reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a pedestrian on the A12 slip road at junction 19.

“An ambulance, an ambulance officer vehicle and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene. One patient, a teenage girl, was transported by road to Broomfield Hospital for further care.”

At the time of the incident, the traffic data company Inrix said: “Accident on A12 Northbound at J19 A130 Colchester Road (Boreham Interchange). All traffic being temporarily held. Lane closed on exit slip road. Stationary traffic. The traffic has been held on the carriageway due to an accident on the exit slip road.”
