No trains in the Woking area this Sunday as SWR warns of engineering work
Seven Surrey[1] stations will have no trains on Sunday (February 11) and other journeys will be disrupted, South Western Railway (SWR) bosses have warned. This is due to planned engineering work that mean there will be no trains in the Woking[2] area.
Rail replacement buses have been organised to run between Weybridge[3], Woking, Guildford[4], and on to Basingstoke and Aldershot. A SWR spokesperson said: “The lines in the Woking area will be closed all day Sunday due to maintenance work.”
Stopping services between London Waterloo and Guildford via Woking will terminate at Weybridge. Journeys between London Waterloo and Woking via Staines[5] will be diverted after Addlestone[6] and also terminate at Weybridge.
SWR added that journeys between London Waterloo and Portsmouth via Guildford will be revised and include an additional stop in Surbiton. They will not call at Woking. Additional stops in Guildford are planned for diverted services from London Waterloo and Weymouth.
Stopping services between London Waterloo and Basingstoke will not run but there will be replacement buses in place between Woking, Guildford, and Basingstoke. SWR has advised passengers from London Waterloo and Clapham Junction to travel to Guildford to connect with the bus service.
