Live: Major delays as lorry crashes into Cornwall train bridge

Trains between Penzance and Plymouth are facing lengthy delays this morning[1], Tuesday, February 20. It is believed that a lorry has crashed into a train bridge between Par and St Austell, causing delays.

Great Western Railway[2] has informed passengers that some services may be affected this morning. They said: “Due to a lorry colliding with a bridge between Par and St Austell all lines are closed. Disruption is expected until 10:30 20/02”.

An eyewitness has told CornwallLive: “On the 9:30 cross country service to Edinburgh currently stuck at St Austell as a vehicle has hit a bridge”.
