A303 reopens after four-vehicle pile up

A road on the Devon/Somerset border was blocked in both directions earlier today following a crash involving multiple vehicles. It’s reported that as many as four vehicles may have been involved in the pile-up.

There were long on the A303 this afternoon (February 18) after the accident which happened between the Chard turn off and the Taunton turn off. It was first reported shortly after 3pm. The road reopened shortly after 6:20pm.

A lorry, two cars and a motorcycle have reportedly all been involved in the crash. It’s not yet known if there have been any injuries.

Inrix reports: “A303 in both directions blocked, queueing traffic due to accident, a lorry, two cars and a motorcycle involved between the Chard turn off (Upottery) and the Taunton turn off (Newcott).”
