Woman rushed to hospital after crash on Erskine Bridge
We previously reported that emergency services had responded to the scene on the southbound carriageway of the A898 after the alarm was raised at around 1pm today.
It is understood that the collision involved a lorry (HGV) and a car.
In an update, police confirmed one woman, from the car, was taken to hospital as a precaution.
A man, the lorry driver, has been reported in connection with an alleged road offence.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 1pm on Wednesday, January 17, to a report of a crash involving a car and an HGV on the A898 Erskine Bridge, southbound.
“Emergency services attended and one woman from the car was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“One man, the lorry driver, has been reported in connection with a road traffic offence.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: “We were alerted at 1.04pm on Wednesday, January 17, to reports of a road traffic collision involving a large vehicle and a private car at Erskine Bridge.
“Operations Control mobilised three appliances and specialist resources to the scene, where crews made the area safe.
“There were no reported casualties, and crews are no longer in attendance.”
