Storm Henk: Flooding hits Leominster, Herefordshire | Hereford Times
Photographer Jim Wood captured several photos around Herefordshire showing the impact of the floods.
A lorry was stranded on the A44 in Monkland near Leominster, and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) were called to help the driver.
HWFRS said: “A HWFRS crew and a water crew from Leominster Fire Station and water rescue vehicles from Worcester and Hereford were called at 4.57am on January 3 to a vehicle in water on the A44 in Monkland. It was stuck in around a metre of floodwater and the male driver was rescued by water first responders using a sled. The incident was marked as pending closure at 6.44am.”
The road has since been closed, along with several other major routes in Herefordshire like the A4110 and the A456.
