Steam locomotive Kilmersdon departs Midsomer Norton
Steam locomotive Kilmersdon was on the move once again – though this time the trip was by road rather than by rail.
The 0-4-0 saddle tank had been a guest for the winter season at the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway[1] at Midsomer Norton[2] and left on Wednesday 10 January for the trip back to the Mid Hants Railway, which is her current base.
Number 1788 had been at the Somerset[3] railway since early October and performed a variety of duties faultlessly, most importantly as a key element in the successful Santa specials which ran in December.
Her final outing was on Mince Pie Special trains on New Year’s Day.
