Road closed for 90 minutes following two-vehicle collision

A busy road was closed this morning following a two-vehicle collision.

The incident happened on the A17 at Fosdyke, on the junction with Pitcher Row Lane, with the road shut for an hour-and-a-half.

Eyewitnesses reported long delays for motorists attempting to reach the nearby Sutterton roundabout, which links the A17 with the A16.

The A17 has come under scrutiny recently after a man in his 80s died following a crash at Gedney[1] and a lorry and car were involved in a crash[2] at Holbeach[3] just days apart.

This week the Lincs Road Safety Partnership revealed there had been 180 collisions and nine deaths[4] on the A17 between Swineshead and Sutton Bridge over the past six years.

“The road was closed until 9.40am while the vehicles were recovered. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.”
