PSNI appeal after theft from NI garage with suspects leaving on moped

Police have issued an appeal for information after a theft from a garage in Newtownabbey.

Two men entered the Spar Garage on the Doagh Road[1] at around 2.30pm on Monday, January 1. They entered the garage wearing helmets, and left with a number of goods without paying before fleeing from the scene on a moped.

The PSNI have asked for anyone with dash cam footage from the scene to get in touch.

A spokesperson for the PSNI[3] said: “Newtownabbey Police are currently investigating an incident which occurred at approximately 1430 hours on Monday 1st January 2024 at the Spar Garage on Doagh Road, Newtownabbey.

“Two men entered the premises wearing helmets and left the store with a number of goods without paying. They left the scene on a moped.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and has dash cam footage. If you believe that you have any information regarding this incident, please contact us on 101, quoting the police reference serial #1288 1/1/24.”
