Police called to five accidents on same road in just over 24 hours
A road has become an accident hotspot in the last 24 hours as police have responded to multiple incidents.
The A1065, near Toftrees, has seen five collisions since Tuesday morning – including one where a woman was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
Officers were first called to the road, which runs between Fakenham and Swaffham, at 6.17am yesterday after a three-vehicle collision left one person in hospital[1].
Highway teams will be dealing with road closures due to the icy conditions. Picture: Google MapsThis was then followed by a single-vehicle crash at 6.38pm the same day. Officers said this was “damage only”, after attending and assisting with road closures.
At 12.40am this morning, police responded to another one-vehicle incident and arrested a woman who they suspected was intoxicated behind the wheel.
Less than seven hours later, officers were forced to close the road while awaiting recovery vehicles for two separate collisions after a lorry jack-knifed, shortly before 7am, and another car “left the road”.
A police spokesperson has said: “Due to icy conditions in the area, any ongoing road closures will be managed by Highways.”
