A purpose built office block in Inverness with amazing views of the Kessock Bridge and over the Inverness Firth to the Black Isle, is for sale or let.

Three storey New Century House, a stone’s throw from the waterfront on Stadium Road, was built as the former home of the Inverness Courier and Highland News publications which have now moved to a city centre office in Church Street.

The asking price or rental is available on application.

The building is being sold by HIAL (Highlands and Islands Airports Ltd) for £2.6 million as the Dalcross based Scottish Ministers owned company wanted to use it as an air traffic control hub for their controversial new air traffic management strategy.

HIAL was forced to scrap these plans after costs soared and there were concerns including from trade union Prospect about the centralisation, and now the building is being disposed of by the airport operator.

Airports at Sumburgh, Kirkwall, Stornoway, Inverness, and Dundee would have been covered in the centralised operation.

New Century House stands on a 2.2-acre site with more than 50 parking spaces.

Andrew Rose of selling agent Graham & Sibbald said: “It is a substantial landmark building, and we have had several viewings, but there are never going to be queues given the size of the building.”

It is described as a three storey purpose built office block which also has a top floor executive suite.

The marketing details stress its prime location saying: “Inverness is the main administrative and retail centre for the Highland region. It has the benefit of good road, rail, and airport links with the population being in excess of 60,000 and having a large catchment area.

“New Century House has the advantage of being situated close to the main A9 trunk road network, lying a short distance away.”
